Medical psychology is that branch of psychology that integrates somatic and psychotherapeutic modalities into the management of mental illness and emotional, cognitive, behavioral and substance use disorders. In the class we will discuss about the psychological factors that intervene the development of human and the psychological disorder and some other important topics such as “Doctor-Patients relationships”. It is necessary for students to take lecture notes by themselves to prepare their final examination. It is essential to study the topics covered in these lecture notes and the material covered in the practice sessions to acquire a basic understanding of psychology. However, a personal perspective will only be developed by attending each class. This reading should be done on a regular basis, should take at least one (1) hour per week, and should keep up with the lecture topics. As a general rule, students should spend at least one (1) hour per week out-of-class reading and reviewing as they do in class.
